Miley Cyrus has staged a getaway from the Lifetime/History Channel miniseries "Bonnie & Clyde."
The "Hannah Montana" star had beenin talks to play Bonnie Parker in the project, which will retell the story of the infamous 1930s bank robbers. She has now dropped out, TVLine reports. No one is saying what led her to bolt.
Craig Zadan and Neil Meron("Smash," Lifetime's "Steel Magnolias") are executive producing the miniseries, which would follow the bank-robbing gang on their spree through Texas, Oklahoma and the Midwest during the Great Depression. Parker and Clyde Barrow were killed by Texas and Louisiana lawmen in May 1934.
Their exploits were the subject of an Oscar-winning 1967 movie that starredFaye Dunaway and Warren Beatty in the title roles.
