Miley Cyrus might only be 20 years old, but she never fails to surprise fans. 2012 has been one crazy year for the former-Disney starlet and I take a look back at her top 10 omg! moments of the year.
10. Despite high-profile relationships and a sexy-photo scandal, I was still shocked when Miley started talking sex. In an interview with Amanda DeCadenet, the 'Hannah Montana' starlet told the host, "Sex is actually really beautiful. It's the only way that we create and it's the only way that the world keeps going. Girls who base how much they're worth on the sexual favours they can do for somebody, that makes me really sad." Wise words, for sure, but it still stirred up some controversy over weather the teen-star should be talking about the topic so openly.
9. After what seems like forever, Miley confirmed that new music is on the way soon! And to top it all off, the singer announced that she is working on the album with none other than Pharrell Williams. Although the collaboration is surprising, I can't wait to hear the results.
8. Much to the delight of all her fans, Miley landed the title role in 2012's 'LOL'. The film, also starring Demi Moore, seemed like it was a sure-fire hit. However, the movie was overshadowed by 'The Avengers' release and it bombed at the box office - taking in only $46,500 over the U.S. opening weekend.
7. Despite the disappointing performance of her film, Miley proved she's not exactly short of cash by dropping a whopping $80,000 on a new Porsche. Not a bad ride for a 20 year old!
6. In September 2012, the talented young star had a fright when a scissor-wielding stalker jumped the fence around her house and attempted to break in. Thankfully, the star was unharmed and her stalker was jailed for 18 months. For extra protection, Cyrus slapped a restraining order on the creeper.
5. It's been a while since Miley graced the small screen, but the last show I expected to find the wholesome actress pop up on was 'Two and Half Men.' Miley landed a role as guest star, playing a fast-talking, smoking hot Southerner who captures the attention of both Ashton Kutcher and Angus T. Jones. Even more shocking was the fact that she turned Kutcher's character down!
4. In November 2012, Miley surprised me with her potty-mouth when she swore at photogs who were hounding her as she touched down at LAX airport, repeatedly telling reporters to "Shut the **** up." Oh well, I would be grumpy too at 1:00 a.m. in the morning!
3. Miley is well-known for pushing boundaries so it didn't come as much of a shock when the artist paired up with Dubstep DJ Borgore for dance-track 'Decisions'. What was more shocking was the video, where a scantily clad cake-smeared Miley smooches unicorns and parties with porn star Jessie Andrews. Pretty wild!
2. One of Miley's biggest omg! moments of 2012, without a doubt has to be when she chopped off her gorgeous locks. Miley debuted the dramatic hairstyle back in August - a very short, peroxide blonde pixie do. It's definitely edgy, definitely different and it took a while to get used to but it's totally awesome!
1. Miley's absolute jaw-dropping moment of 2012 was when the then 19 year old announced her engagement to long-term boyfriend and 'The Hunger Games' star Liam Hemsworth in June. While I knew the couple were serious, I had no idea that wedding bells were right around the corner. With a successful career and a gorge man on her arm, it seems like 2012 was a great year for Miley Cyrus!
